Tiphaine Frère

I am Tiphaine, I am 27 years old. I started learning to play a musical instrument at the age of 6. I started with the accordion for 2 years, then I turned to the flute, at the Conservatoire de Toulon, in the south of France, where I obtained my Diploma of Musical Studies. I also obtained the Advanced Diploma at the Conservatoire de Musique d’Aix-en-Provence two years later, in 2016. Then I left for Germany, in Stuttgart, where I could validate my Bachelor of Arts with Davide Formisano. After that, I came to Zürich for a first Master’s degree, where I was able to follow the classes of Philippe Racine and Sabine Poyé-Morel, soloist of the Tonhalle of Zürich. I also had the opportunity to join the Zürich Opera as a trainee and then as a substitute. To complete my studies, I obtained a second master’s degree in pedagogy at the University of Music in Lucerne in the class of Sarah Rumer, soloist of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

Currently, I play regularly in different orchestras such as the Zurich Opera, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Toulon, the Orchestre National de Cannes etc…

In parallel to my career as a musician, I also have the opportunity to teach in large institutions such as the Conservatoire du Nord Vaudois, the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève, the Musikschule Kriens (Lucerne), or the Ecole de Musique des Cadets de Genève etc…

Since March 2023, I’m teaching at the Centre Musical de Cornavin in Geneva and I am looking forward to introducing you to my instrument.

Testimonials

A big thank you to you, I really had a great time! Your classes have given me a renewed impetus in learning the
flûte.

Good continuation, what a joy!

N.H.

Tiphaine is a combination of calm and patience. This allowed me to quickly gain confidence in the flûte lessons, without judgment.

Respectful of the student’s level, Tiphaine knows how to bring some challenge in her lessons, which allows me to evolve as we meet.
