Flute Lessons

Course description

The flute is a member of the woodwind family. It is also the oldest musical instrument ever found ! The oldest flute dates back 35.000 years ! But before being made of wood, they were made of bone. In my flute lessons, I know how to adapt my didactic tools and coordinate them with a very careful, demanding but also playful, adjusted and exciting methodology. As a dedicated musician, it is important for me to develop and creatively arouse the interest, curiosity and motivation of my students, also based on my experience as a performer, but also as a teacher. I want to adapt to the age, level and profile of each student, while supporting their personal development. The student is always at the center of my teaching approach. The role of the teacher is, for me, that of an artist’s revealer and a vector for open-mindedness.

Here are the short, medium and long term goals that we usually set with the students:

• • • initiate or deepen the musical ear
    • forge or enrich one’s technical abilities on the instrument
    • arouse enthusiasm for the search for musical phrasing
    • learn to structure the reading of a musical score
    • cultivate knowledge of different styles and repertoires
    • etc …

Taking advantage of this structure is also a point to consider:

• • • develop various activities that allow students to meet each other
    • play together and thus stimulate their creative and artistic spirit
    • organize auditions and concerts during the year in order to share one’s music

About the teacher

I had the chance to start learning to play an instrument when I was 6 years old. I started with the accordion for 2 years, then I turned to the flute. I have validated my Diploma of End of Studies as well as my Advanced Diploma at the Conservatory of Music of Aix-en-Provence in France. Then I went to Germany, to Stuttgart, where I could validate my Bachelor of Arts. After that, I moved to Zurich for a first Master’s degree. I also had the opportunity to join the Zürich Opera as a trainee and then as a substitute. To complete my musical studies, I obtained in 2022 a second master in pedagogy at the University of Music in Lucerne. Currently, I play regularly in different orchestras such as the Zurich Opera, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Toulon, the Orchestre National de Cannes etc…

Since March 2023, I’m teaching at the Centre Musical de Cornavin in Geneva and I am looking forward to introducing you to my instrument!
